Claire Hyde

Director

Claire Hyde, the founder and owner of Quay HR, has a wealth of experience working within the HR profession in a variety of roles in the public, private and third sectors.

Initially employed by John Lewis Partnership, Claire held a number of HR roles at the London Head Office including working as a Pay Research Manager and a Researcher in Personnel Policy. Claire has operated at a senior HR level in generalist and specialist roles in the areas of: Employee Resourcing for a public sector organisation, Employee Relations for a large retailer, as an HR generalist for a manufacturing firm, a Pay and Reward/ Employment Policy specialist and Lead HR Officer at two local Councils and an HR Executive for a not-for-profit company.

Claire is a fully qualified professional member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered FCIPD), she has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management (MA in HRM), she is a CIPD certified Employment Law practitioner and a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM).

As an HR Consultant, Claire combines her academic knowledge with her skills and experience as an HR practitioner in order to deliver the best possible HR solutions to organisations, enabling them to achieve their goals through their people, as well as supporting individuals to realise their full potential.

Shelley Poole

Shelley Poole

HR Consultant

Shelley is an experienced HR and management professional who is skilled in resolving workplace disputes and implementing change. She has a wealth of knowledge gained from handling disciplinary, capability and grievance cases in a range of business environments and is practised in negotiating with trade unions.  Shelley's company, Wellington HR, undertakes work on behalf of Quay HR.

In addition to her role as HR Consultant at Quay HR Solutions, Shelley is also a qualified Lecturer in Business, experienced in leading Further and Higher Education programmes including HNC Business and Management. Her teaching specialisms include HR, business strategy, motivation, leadership and management.  In addition to her role at Quay HR, Shelley is also a Lecturer and Course Lead at Bridgwater and Taunton College.

Prior to commencing her teacher career in 2010 Shelley previously worked in HR and management roles for organisations including Barclays International and the RNLI. She is currently also a trustee for the Future Bright Trust.

Liz Smith

HR Consultant

Liz Smith brings over 20 years’ experience to the Quay HR team across all areas of HR.

Liz started her career in taxation and finance, managing payrolls and moved into the development of innovative HR IT solutions to give better people related information to managers and leaders. She then moved into HR and has since held several leadership positions, including managing transactional and operational HR, Change Management, Employee Relations, HR Project Management, and more recently working as a Business Partner with senior leadership teams in leading and supporting strategic business goals.

Liz’s background in Employee Relations has developed a passion in her for seeking and developing pragmatic solutions in difficult situations, she will be able to give you the support and advice you need which will enable you to get on with running the day to day operation of your business efficiently and effectively.

Liz is an experienced facilitator and coach. She enjoys developing and mentoring people and teams to find their focus, challenge their limitations and fulfil their objectives making positive changes and improvements to their lives and businesses.
